Ego’s Nurseries Wins Award of Ego’s Nurseries Ltd. of Coldwater, Ontario was recently honoured with an Award of Excellence at the Garden Centre Symposium hosted by Landscape Ontario in Toronto on October 18, 2010. The Award was for Ego’s Display Gardens (over 500 square feet) which were constructed to showcase plant varieties in a garden setting and provide an opportunity for customers to visualize what these plants will look like in their own gardens. They also allows Ego’s, as growers, to trial new plants to see how they will perform in the local climate and garden conditions. These gardens are located within the retail area so customers can easily identify and find varieties that catch their eye. The display gardens are located at the back of the main retail greenhouse and feature many selections of small trees, shrubs and perennials. These gardens also serve to welcome customers to the outdoor nursery and perennial area and hopefully provide a little inspiration! |

Ego's Wins Business Ego's Nurseries Ltd. recently was awarded the Oro-Medonte Chamber of Commerce Business Achievement Award for Site Enhancement. In 2008, Ego's undertook a renovation to our outdoor retail area where trees, shrubs and perennials are displayed. The project included the relocation of three hoop houses and redesign of the area (about 10,000 sq ft) to create a more "garden like" setting. The new display area includes a feature garden and pergola, display gardens for showcasing new varieties of plants, rest/sitting areas for customers, and large displays of plants. The construction of the feature garden and stone work were completed in partnership withNorthridge Landscaping and Atlas Block. The area was used to host several special events in 2008 including a fundraising BBQ for Big Brothers/Big Sisters, a customer AprreciationNight for landscape trades people, the Canadian Greenhouse Conference Tour, among others. |
